Amid reports of controversy following remarks made by the Chief Minister (CM), where he appeared to blame construction workers from Bihar for the destruction in Shimla, the CM responded by saying, "From where did this statement come? Please ask them not to play politics." Responding to this, Union minister Anurag Thakur stated that the Congress had revealed its true colors by seemingly "blaming" the people of Bihar for the damage caused by heavy rain.

In the midst of fresh reports of flash floods and landslides triggered by heavy rainfall in Himachal Pradesh, the death toll due to rain-related incidents has tragically reached 74. Rescue teams are still engaged in operations near the temple collapse site in Shimla, where eight more individuals are feared to be buried.
On a recent Thursday, the chief minister visited areas severely affected by floods and heavy rain in the Mandi district, including Matehdi, Baldwara, Maseran, and Jukain of Sarkaghat assembly.
Meanwhile, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted scattered rainfall over the next four to five days, with controlled rainfall in the state until August 25.
Chhattisgarh CM's Aid Announcement:
Chhattisgarh chief minister Bhupesh Baghel announced a financial assistance of ₹11 crore to Himachal Pradesh, the state worst-hit by the monsoon rains. Baghel spoke to CM Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu over the phone and offered support to deal with the situation.
